Advertisers need to know their target group when placing adverts on t.v,magazines and social networking sites. Another key aspect to targeting your audience is what gender, age and social class they are.
The different interests of men and women are the most obvious factor in considering audience's by advertisers. There are still references to women's magazines and films such as chick flicks.
We will have to consider the style of the presentation of the text, how attractive/effective it is to our target audience, whether the content of the text is suitable/appropriate for out audience.
We need to remember that every media text that has been produced has had the intended reader in mind,at all times.
